CCO News

The 100th day of school has come and gone, and Spring is finally in the air! Many thanks to all of our families, friends and supporters for helping to make this a great year for the Charter Community Organization. We have officially transitioned our ‘new’ organization with all the benefits of a non-profit 501(c)3 association, including a unique tax ID.  All communications and payments going forward should be addressed to the “CCO”.

Our main fundraising goal this year has been to enhance the technology available to our students and faculty.  Recently, we subsidized the Study Island program for grades K-3, and we are currently working with administrators to identify the technology improvements that will have the most significant impact on our children.  Please come to the next CCO meeting if you are interested in getting more involved…new energy and ideas are always welcome!

CCO Events Recap
We've had a BUSY Winter! Here are only some of our CCO activities.

The 100+ ladies who attended Girls Night Out at Racioppi’s enjoyed great food, chance auctions for fabulous gifts and shopping from local vendors. The events proceeds are being used to upgrade school technology.

The Winter Holiday Program at Two River Theater was a hit with our children K-5 and Dance/Band/Chorus/Theater students performing song and dance numbers to a packed house of proud parents and teachers.

The Annual Poinsettia Sale raised enough funds to cover almost 2 class trips to Kateri Center. Way to go! Please watch for Spring Annuals coming soon.

Our Musical Theater Electives and 5th grade Chorus put on a FANTASTIC performance of the endearing Dickens classic, “A Christmas Carol”.

Approximately 90 guests attended the Community Service / MLK Breakfast with guest speaker Rev Terrance Porter of Pilgrim Baptist Church in Red Bank and many non-profit vendors including Lunch Break, Bridge of Books , Clean Ocean Action, Surf Rider, Red Bank Library, Boys and Girls Club, Safe Routes, Real Mamas and YMCA Y-Team Achievers — all together reinforcing the spirit of Community.

Our students met with Nobel Peace Prize nominee, Greg Mortenson who co-founded an organization building schools in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Students also raised funds for Pennies for Peace benefiting those same schools.
RBCS students: Mary Kate McGuire (8th), Lilly Gradl (8th), Karen Flores (8th) and Jessica Scotti (7th) participated in round table discussions and conference at The National Girls and Women in Sports Day at Monmouth University.
